Due to a very wide island, most of the islands that spread in Seribu Islands Regency Administration are untouchable. Seeing this, Jakarta Provincial Government intends to use those lands for planting productive trees and building green open space (RTH), especially in empty lands.
"Local citizens will be involved to realize our project. We will use the empty lands here," said Seribu Islands Regent, Tri Djoko Sri Margianto, when he visited the Sebira Island, Harapan Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands Sub-District, Friday (4/24).
S. Jakarta will Add 3,2 Hectares of RTHHe also asked Head of Seribu Islands Marine and Agricultural Sub-Department, Wawan Karmawan there are some big-sized productive trees that will be planted, such as sukun, coconut, and etc.
"Sebira Islands will be reforested, as I saw there are still empty lands. The island is beautiful and natural, as well as has its own attraction to attract tourists," he uttered.
He also appreciated the island citizens who are still enthusiastic maintaining the hundreds-year old trees in front of their home, including mangrove trees planting on the west edge of the island.
